OYO Hotels & Homes launches industry-First Complimentary Insurance Cover For Guests At The Booking Price; Partners With ACKO For Insurance Policy

  
 The complimentary insurance is a first-of-its kind offering in India that will provide insurance claim against unexpected and often isolated situations like baggage loss, accidental cover, hospitalization amongst other benefits

The insurance cover is applicable to guests checking in to OYO Hotels, OYO Home, OYO Townhouse, Collection O, SilverKey, Capital O and Palette Resorts, on bookings made via OYO App, website, mobile website, direct bookings and walk-ins

Unique insurance cover provides protection to guests for the entire duration of their stay in a particular city based on booking period

OYO Hotels & Homes, India’s largest, world’s 3rd largest and fastest-growing chain of leased and franchised hotels, homes, living and workspaces, today announced a first-of-its-kind offering for its customers with complimentary insurance cover for guests as part of the booking price staying in OYO properties across India. 


The insurance cover has been launched in partnership with ACKO General Insurance, India’s first and fastest-growing Insurtech company which makes buying and using insurance effortless. With a shared vision of offering hassle-free services and a consumer-first approach backed by innovative technology, OYO and ACKO are launching this industry-first feature to ensure a great hospitality experience for the consumer.


The complimentary insurance package offers OYO guests insurance coverage upto INR 10,00,000 for protection against accidental death (coverage upto INR 10,00,000), baggage loss (coverage upto INR 10,000), accidental medical expenses (coverage upto INR 25,000) amongst other benefits like OPD treatment, etc for the entire duration of their stay in  a particular city. 


To begin with, OYO will be offering guests staying at OYO Hotels, OYO Home, OYO Townhouse, Collection O, SilverKey, Capital O and Palette Resorts this insurance, valid for their full period of stay in these properties. The insurance cover will be applicable to bookings made via the OYO App, website, mobile website, direct bookings as well as walk-ins. The offering will be extended to other categories and booking channels in the coming days.


Along with customers, the unique offering also aims to benefit asset owners as it helps further improve customer experience and satisfaction and thereby lead to higher repeat rates, and increased yield.


On booking an OYO property, customers will be able to view their insurance policy on the booking confirmation page and by logging on to either of the OYO and ACKO websites with their registered mobile numbers.


How to claim insurance?

On OYO App/Website:

- Open your OYO App and go to ‘My Bookings’

- Select the particular stay that you want to claim for from the list of stay

- Click on the ‘Insurance’ option from your stay details page

- Select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with ACKO


On ACKO.com

- Go to www.acko.com & login with your mobile number registered on OYO

- Under the ‘Claims’ section, select OYO Claims which opens your ‘My Account’ page

- Select the ‘Stay’ filter which opens all your stays

- Select the particular trip, click on the 'Initiate Claim' button below the Policy details section


- Select the type of claim, follow the next few steps, and your claim will be registered with ACKO
