#KnowIndependenceDay With Helo This 15th August

Did you know that the first national flag in India is said to have been hoisted on August 7, 1906, in the Parsee Bagan Square (Green Park) in Calcutta now Kolkata? The flag was composed of three horizontal strips of red, yellow and green. Helo, India’s leading social media app, is celebrating India’s 73rd Independence Day by educating its community of 50 million monthly active users (MAUs) with its #KnowIndependenceDay campaign.

Through this campaign, Helo and its in-app media partners will be publishing informative posts and articles related to lesser-known facts about India’s independence in 14 local languages. User can also use the #KnowIndependenceDay hashtag to share informative content in the language they are most comfortable with. 

Helo users can also use the #TricolorChallenge hashtag with exciting in-app stickers specially designed for Independence Day to post their favourite moments. 

“Independence Day is a momentous occasion where the entire country comes together to celebrate the spirit of patriotism. Our aim is to educate and inform the Indian community  about our countrythrough our #KnowIndependenceDay campaign and enable them to better express their national pride through the #TriColorChallenge. We are confident that through these initiatives, we will be able to bridge the information gap for our users in 14 Indian languages and empower our users to show their love for India,” said Shyamanga Barooah, Head, Content Operations, Helo.

The #KnowIndependenceDay campaign and the #TriColor challenge started on August 10th and will conclude on August 16th 2019.
